Zoë-Life is the first organisation to introduce the concept of child-centred care into HIV programmes for children and adolescents in South Africa.
We’ve been a technical support partner to the South African National Department of Health in child and adolescent HIV differentiated care since 2007.
Our support has included the development of innovative interventions for children receiving care in primary health facilities and community settings, developing resources and disclosure guidelines, as well as training and mentoring healthcare workers delivering HIV care to children.
Through multiple funding streams, KidzAlive has been implemented in 8 provinces in South Africa, 4 states in Nigeria and in 2023, KidzAlive Mozambique was launched.
