Empowered communities are the cornerstone of lasting change.

20 years of direct community engagement have fueled groundbreaking initiatives in partnership with communities, governments, and organisations.

From empowering community leaders to implementing cutting-edge strategies like the Ideal Community Strategy, we are dedicated to cultivating sustainable change and empowering grassroots communities in the fight against HIV and beyond.

How we work

Direct Engagement

Our approach begins with listening.

We consult with community gatekeepers, organisations, and government bodies to understand the pulse of local needs.

Collaborative Initiatives

Our collaborations extend beyond partnerships.

They are co-developed journeys with children, adolescents, and caregivers. Together, we craft initiatives that directly address their specific needs.

Capacity Building

We believe in empowering communities from within.

Through training, mentorship, and ongoing technical support, we equip community workers with the tools to deliver effective HIV services.

Empowering Leadership

Zoë-Life doesn't just lead;
we empower.

By sub-granting to key Community-Based Organisations like Siza Community Care, Philisiwe Community Health Care, and Masisizane Service Centre, we ensure community leadership drives impactful implementation.

Organisational Development

To strengthen sustainability, we engage in rigorous organisational development activities.

We conduct assessments, pinpoint gaps, and collaborate closely with CBOs to implement tailored Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs) that address the identified gaps.

Ideal Community Strategy

Our proactive approach led to the development of the Ideal Community Strategy, reinvigorating community participation and leadership in HIV response.

This strategy prioritises child and youth concerns, fostering proactive HIV responses at the grassroots level.

Impactful Reach

Our collaborations extend beyond partnerships.

Operating in Umlazi and Inanda townships, our CBOs collectively impact over 800 children through comprehensive HIV services, covering the spectrum from case finding to retention in care.

Sustainable Empowerment

Through ongoing projects like KidzAlive@home, funded by Aidsfonds, we integrate quality assurance and improvement processes.

This ensures ongoing improvements and tailored responses to each community's unique challenges.
